When Hazel James won the Strike it Rich contest from National Magazine Exchange in June, her success was touted as proof that there is hope for the common American. Yet, much of this hope has been spurred on by a consumer society bent on imagining itself weathering a self imposed economic storm of its own making. Hazel James and National Magazine Exchange type of contests aside, it will take a lot more tightening and creative thinking for America to pull itself through”The Great Recession.”
Now you might be wondering what some of my ideas are and simply put, the USA has always been the source for ingenuity and inspiration for other countries. A strong move to alternative energy and clean development of its own national resources, maybe a good start.
