Today, the finance ministers who come from the countries of the Association of South Eastern Nations (ASEAN) will meet in Bangkok with those from the EU. The goal of the meeting is to increase trade and investments between the two as the EU attempts to exit from the Eurozone’s sovereign debt crisis.
The expectation is that 25 finance ministers will be there to discuss the Eurozone debt crunch and its impact
There has been a dramatic rise of ASEAN nations’ exports to Europe from USD 600 million to more than USD 1 trillion last year.
The Asian-European Forum is made up of 46 states which include EU countries and 16 Asian countries.
